While Dad's Away...

Andy had to go to Texas for recruiting for two weeks and was so bummed to leave his little buddy. I caught Luke trying to sneak in his Dad's suitcase. Just 10 days old - he fits!

Thank goodness for Grandma! She's been keeping the house together while I get used to motherhood...and get some sleep! She's doing everything from diaper changes in the middle of the night to cooking & cleaning and of course...redecorating. We had so much fun putting this cool tree up in Luke's room!

Luke had some great snuggling time with Grandma. :)

And they read stories together every day.

We've also discovered that Luke is a boy who needs a bath every day. I call him "Master Pee" - not to be confused with the rapper, Master P. He can pee through any outfit and around any obstacle. We've all gotten wet! Here he is enjoying a bath.

I think he has fun hanging out with the girls, but he can't wait for his Dad to come home!

Places to go and things to do

Just 6 days old...Here's Luke on the way to his first doctor's appointment...

He's in there somewhere! It was snowing that day and Grandma didn't want her baby to be cold. It was hilarious- when the doctor asked us to undress him we peeled off layer after layer. He definitely didn't get cold! Good job Grandma! He weighed 6lbs 14oz - so he'd lost 10% of his body weight but was healthy. Here's another picture of our little eskimo...

Luke loves hanging with Uncle Mike in the "sunny spot" near the windows.

Enjoying some awake time...I love it when he's looking so alert!

We finally had a warm(ish) day so we hung out in the backyard for a little bit.

On his 9th day, we decided Luke needed to see Lake Tahoe...and since Mike had to go back to Indiana we thought we'd take him, too. :) So we all piled into Andy's new pickup truck and took a drive. It was a gorgeous day and although you can't see much of Luke in these pictures cause he's so bundled up, I think he had a good time!

Luke is going to love living so close to such a beautiful place! Andy is already talking about taking him fishing. :) We're going to have so much fun with this little guy!

Coming Home

After three days in the hospital, we were ready to get home and show Luke his new digs! It was cold out but we had to show him the mountains!

Here are my monkees taking a nap - their favorite thing to do together!

That pacifier covers most of his cute face!

Uncle Mike came to visit when Luke was just 4 days old. Here's Luke meeting Uncle Mike for the first time. I think they're going to be good friends!

Meeting his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin via skype. Hi Collin!

And notice the cute hat? That's another Aunt Andee creation that he wears all the time! Thanks Andee!

We can't wait for you to meet him in person!

Luke Daniel Buh - born 5/5/10

He's finally here! We were scheduled to be induced on Thursday, May 6, but on Wednesday I woke up having contractions. Luke arrived at 6:54pm via c-section weighing 7lbs 6 oz. Here are some pics of his arrival.

Andy and Grandma kept an eye on Luke while I was in recovery.

3 hours later...I finally got to meet my baby! Mom says (I don't remember thanks to some fantastic pain killers) this was when I said "Oh my gosh, we're parents!" I just remember thinking he is perfect. :)

Here's Luke sporting a hat made by Aunt Andee. Thank goodness for this hat - it was cold and the hospital put him in a blue and pink striped hat! No pink on this little boy!

Hanging with Grandma and Grandpa at one day old...

Our family with our new little linebacker..(notice Luke's football outfit). So happy he's finally here!

Daddy admiring his little boy. I love this!

Baby Boo Preview

Today is our official due date! Can't believe it's already here. According to the Dr., nothing's happening yet. But we're in the homestretch! I feel like a hen sitting on an egg! And yes, I'm waddling like a duck. So while we're waiting for Baby Boo's arrival...we'll build the anticipation by looking back on some of the big moments as he's gone from just a little bean to a baby.

To see the journey from the beginning, start in the September, 2009 posts and work your way forward.

Big Mama

A few people have requested pictures of my baby bump...so here it is at my biggest (I hope)! Notice I wore black for its slimming effect. :)

Now all that's left to do is wait...We are so excited to meet Little Boy Boo! And can't wait to introduce him to his family!

The G-Squad

Grandma and Grandpa proved to be superheroes once again. We had just moved into our place the week before, so there was plenty to do! Grandma went to work on the baby's room...

And Grandpa went under the house to fix the loud banging in the pipes that was driving me crazy.

The crawl space served as a good time out room for Grandpa when I caught him eating too many of my Double Stuf OREOs. Get back in your hole!

Andy and Grandpa put the crib together

Here's a look at the before picture...

And the after...

Thanks for all your help Mom and Dad!! Baby Boo is going to love his new digs!
