Road Trip! Part Two

Jon and Sara invited us to go to the San Diego Zoo with them and I was so excited for this to be Luke's first trip to the zoo! It was sooo good to see Jon, Sara and their cute little Jack who will be a big brother in October (congrats, guys!). We went to the zoo at night which was so cool because it wasn't as hot and the animals were pretty active. We loved the new elephant exhibit!





At the end of the night we took the tram back to the zoo entrance - Luke slept, but there were some really beautiful views of San Diego at night. Made me miss it!





We snuck in one more trip to the beach before we left. This time it was overcast, but that made it perfect for Luke. Here he is in his snug little set up.



Luke got to spend a little time with Grandpa before we headed home.

Luke was such a great little traveler! We broke the 10 hour drive from San Diego to Reno into two days to make it easier. It's not a very interesting drive - just lots and lots of desert and not many places to stop. However, we did have to make an emergency pit stop due to a blow out. Not a tire - but Luke's diaper! We were on a stretch of road where there weren't any rest stops or gas stations - just desert and a few trees here and there. Andy found the only shady spot and we gave Luke a "baby wipe bath".
